How To Send Mail From Philippines

Helga King in conversation with Andreas Srenk

Srenk Sir, Some time ago I found your book " Göttingen and surroundings " reviewed on my review platform. For this I now want to ask some questions.

Helga King : What made you a hamburger, to deal with the city of Göttingen in more detail?

Andreas Srenk
Andreas Srenk : As a student I would find it breathtaking in the 80 years almost to the university in Göttingen. However, I ended up in Marburg, a city comparable with traditional universities. Göttingen came to me over all these years again to mind - and it was just that I learned that the famous brothers Grimm had studied in Marburg and later worked as professors in Göttingen. Then, when the publishing house and look around I came up with the idea to bring a Göttingen-book in the successful series Trends & Lifestyle on the way, it was not difficult to motivate myself for it.

Helga King : How long have you been in Göttingen and its surroundings in order to gather impressions of the book?

Andreas Srenk : The book production in 2010 lasted about a year. During this time I'm around thirty-five times been in Göttingen in order to investigate on site and conduct interviews. When I was six months by a visitor once asked for directions and he could answer was correct, that was my personal highlight of the day.

Helga King : The photos of the city leave the impression of a considerable quantity of old, restored buildings. Is there a favorite neighborhood in Göttingen, a place that one should never forget to visit?

Andreas Srenk : The Old City as a whole is the tourist pound that can grow the city. It has inspired my imagination to run through all the streets through which the many are run by Europe's minds. In addition, the Ostviertel with its magnificent villas, small parks and beautiful gardens recommended for a walk.

Helga King : Is it worth it worth the numerous sculptures of the city address, and if so, why?

Andreas Srenk : The monuments and sculptures embody the scientists, poets and philosophers, for outstanding contributions in the various scientific disciplines have done. They form, as a cast metal in memory of the glorious past of the city. The same is true for many of the street name and number of plaques on the facades, making it clear who, when, where has lived.

Helga King: Do you feel that the residents of Göttingen and the environment are communicative and if so, is this your opinion with the mentality or more together with the centuries-long influence of the university?

Andreas Srenk : Göttingen's a melting pot, a melting pot of different People and cultures from around the world who live in the city and work. Although the university is the engine of this development, it is nevertheless not the only institution that comes along multi-ethnic. Just one example: In the Göttingen Symphony Orchestra, musicians from 14 countries. This internationality makes the city the rest to a liberal pavement.

Helga King : What criteria have you applied in the selection of medium-sized businesses that you think in the book?

Andreas Srenk : There had to be trades which are owner-managed are covered in some form in the category of "Trend and Lifestyle", not members of any chain and cause the unusual products in the portfolio that are not offered at every corner. The number of trends and lifestyle has been so designed as a supplement to traditional guidebooks. This means: this is not about the opening times of a museum, but the portraits of people that shape the commercial and cultural sense, a city.

Helga King: Have you fed in the restaurants that you mention?

Anreas Srenk : Yes, up to the Count's Manor Hardenberg.

Helga King: I had the impression that you "Villa Cuba" has most impressed. Have you visited the restaurant in the evening, and if so, can you report on your impressions?

Andreas Srenk : The impression is deceptive. An unusual mix of restaurant, bar and bistro, decorated with great attention to detail. This gastro-concept would work successfully so also in Hamburg and Berlin.

Helga King: What was your impression of the Hann. Lead?

Andreas Srenk : A picturesque little town that could do more off. The tourism concept could use a facelift.

Thank you for the interview, Mr Srenk.

your Helga King
