Dear Kagerer, a few days ago I published a review of your book " A culinary journey through Munich city and country " on my review platform. At this point I would like to ask you some questions.
Helga King : They live in Munich, as you can see the imprint. Based on this fact the motive to write a book about the city?

| Barbara Kagerer |
Barabara Kagerer : I love this city and its people, so I made this discovery.
Helga King : Can you sketch in a few words the concept of your book?
Barbara Kagerer : My concept was, "concentric circles" to draw: The Old Town, then up to the suburbs and I'm finally up to 50 km around Munich moved. It was important to me, in addition to the traditional cuisine, cultural, sporting and spiritual time components in the respective "circles" to describe.
Helga King : How closely have you worked on the project with photographer Daniel Schvarcz?
Barbara Kagerer : Daniel Schvarcz and I have worked in another book about Munich 'crafts, art, design, tradition. " We agree with always match perfectly. His wonderful photographs perfectly with the lyrics.
Helga King: Have you eaten at every restaurant you call?
Barbara Kagerer : I do not see myself as a "restaurant critic". But I must try during my work in most restaurants.

Helga King : What advantage do you see for the reader, if he meets recipes from the kitchen of the focused restaurants?
Barbara Kagerer : I find it beautiful that the guests cook their favorite dish from the restaurant at home can be visited. This has been very happy.
Helga King : What is your favorite restaurant in Munich?
Barbara Kagerer : Munich has so many good and friendly local hosts and that it is difficult to name a favorite restaurant. It is also important, as I just had "lust".
Helga King : Is your opinion influenced by Mediterranean cuisine in Munich, in contrast to the surrounding regions in the restaurant business?
Barbara Kagerer : I do not think. The Mediterranean cuisine is, as represented in Munich and in surrounding areas and is essential to do so.
Helga King : What criteria have you been taken in the selection of catering and other commercial enterprises in the book?
Barbara Kagerer : The selection of all companies represented in the book was directed primarily by the quality. Also, tradition, special features and ambience have played a role.
Helga King : What prompted you to Lake Starnberg to deal specifically with the "Dean fish market and restaurant" to closer?
Barbara Kagerer : I know and appreciate Peter Dechant fish shop and restaurant for many years. His name is on Lake Starnberg in the Kitchen. That is reason enough.
Helga King : Is it a prejudice to think that you can drink in Munich and environment only in top restaurants, a good glass of wine?
|
| Barbara Kagerer |
Barbara Kagerer : This is indeed a the prejudices. There are in Munich or in the immediate surrounding area much easier, but high-quality restaurants and businesses that unexpectedly come up with culinary delicacies and fine wines - you have to know to find it!
Lady Kagerer, thank you for the enlightening interview. As a lover of Munich, you have inspired me through your book very much.
your Helga King
