Dear Mr. Eckert, some time ago I found your new book " The mind is a cunning villain " reviewed . For this book I now want to ask some questions.
Helga King : What is your personal definition of wisdom?
Guido Eckert: This is what to accept without restriction.
Helga King Is it a life goal, be or believe it already be?
Guido Eckert: wisdom is an endless task.
Helga King Who are thinking in terms of reflecting wise behavior most influenced?
Guido Eckert: No single person. A mixture of misfortunes, books and inspirations.
Helga King Is it preferable to a sign of wisdom a hermit's existence to the bathroom in the crowd?
Guido Eckert: In the "wisdom literature" there is at least as an indication. It is not about to hop off from "the world", rather, whether one on the glare, Bunte, can do without sounds.
Helga King View in a exuberant ego a brake to become wise, and if so, why?
Guido Eckert: The ego of modern man is a nature quite different than in previous eras. We are now much more on our "individuality" and our "performance" in mind in past eras. It's not about this development pleadings. But it does not necessarily lead to "enlightenment."
Helga King wisdom is dependent on intelligence and education and if not, why not?
Guido Eckert: wisdom is not dependent on intelligence and education, which can be read alone because "emotionally crippled" people in all professions and walks of life suffer.
Helga King: Why can a hate finished as never to become?
Guido Eckert: Because binds hatred. The object of hatred and thus of past situations. The sages say that we must learn to love.
Helga King Why is humility necessary to become wise?
Guido Eckert: Humility is important because we like to be arrogant without feeling the early mortality and inspire us for things, or against Argue things that are totally unnecessary. Ultimately, we all have in common: flawed and ridiculous.
Helga King you show in your wonderful book that cheerfulness and good humor are always a sign of wisdom. Will initially occupy a bullheaded contemporaries Lach course before you all rush to have patterns of action in practice or course requirements would be a laugh, such a measure ?:-))
Guido Eckert: The serenity follows from a let-skills of all the (alleged) problems and issues that we impose on us. I have no Experience with laughter courses. If something leads to the living "now" and no longer get excited about "clouds", why not?
Helga King What would change on this earth, as if there were more people?
Guido Eckert: peace, harmony, happiness in abundance - that is exactly what caused many contemporaries nausea. Helga King can you three really as personalities from the past and a call from the here and now?
Guido Eckert: moor wisdom of people, in my experience, unfortunately, only leads to heated discussion about a so-called pros and cons of the persons nominated. And away from life-task for ourselves.
